Meet the Directors

All of our directors are based at our Head Office in Great Peter Street, London. Please see below for details of their roles and responsibilities:

 

David Scott - Chief Officer for London

David Scott was appointed as the Chief Officer for London Probation in April 2005. David is the London Criminal Justice Board Lead on Confidence, responsible for driving forward the Board’s continued commitment to improve public confidence in the capital’s criminal justice service (CJS). A key area is building on the dialogue already established with the public of London, particularly those from Black and Minority Ethnic communities.

 

David is also the first Chair of the Probation Chiefs' Association (PCA) which was formed in 2008.

 

David was previously Chief Officer for the Hampshire Area where he chaired the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Criminal Justice Board. Before that, he was Chief Officer for West Sussex Probation Area.

 

David Scott served as a member of the Parole Board for six years.

 

Qualified as a Probation Officer in the early 1970s, David has a background in staff and organisational development, and completed an MBA with the Open Business School in the mid 1990s.

 

Geraldine Gavin - Chief Operations Officer

Geraldine is London Probation's Chief Operations Officer and also acts as Deputy to David Scott, Chief Officer. She line manages the Directors of London North, South and Interventions.

 

 

 

Phil Drury - Director of Human Resources

Phil is our Director of Human Resources. Phil is responsible for all areas of Human Resources at London Probation, which are Human Resources Management (HRM), Human Resources Development (HRD), Recruitment and Health and Safety.

 

Hilary Harwood - Director of Interventions

Hilary is our Director of Interventions. Interventions are the processes put in place to rehabilitate offenders to reduce re-offending. Interventions include: Unpaid Work (formerly known as Community Service), Offending Behaviour Programmes, Approved Premises and Employment and Skills training. She also leads on enforcement & community orders, drugs policy, local area agreements and Crime & Disorder Reduction partnerships.
 

Malcolm Jenkin - Director London North, Public Protection and Resettlement

Malcolm is our Director of London North, Public Protection and Resettlement. He is therefore responsible for the following boroughs in London; Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Barking Dagenham/Havering, Newham, Haringey, Waltham Forest/Redbridge, Barnet/Enfield, Brent, Camden/Islington, Ealing, Harrow/Hillingdon.
 
As well as the management of these boroughs, Malcolm is also responsible for our Public Protection and Resettlement work. Protecting the public is one of the key aims of London Probation.

 

Chitra Karve - Director of Equality and Diversity

Chitra is our Director of Equality and Diversity. Equality and Diversity is at the centre of all London Probation's work, and involves working on each of the following areas; confidence, disabilities, faiths, foreign nationals, hate crimes, human rights, Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender (LGBT) and women
 

Mary McFeely - Director London South, London Criminal Justice Board, Courts & OASys

Mary is our Director of London South and is responsible for the management of the following boroughs; Hounslow, Kingston/Richmond, Hammersmith/Fulham, Kensington/Chelsea, Westminster, Merton/Sutton, Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark, Greenwich/Lewisham, Bexley/Bromley, Croydon. As well as responsibility for these boroughs, Mary also has the important role of being responsible for our work with both the Crown and Magistrates' Courts and sits on the London Criminal Justice Board.
 

Stephen Moran - Director of Business Solutions

As Director of Business Solutions, Stephen is responsible for the following departments within London Probation: Marketing & Communications, Corporate Procurement & Commercial Development, Resource Development, Income Generation, Web Services, Technical Innovation, Quality & Standards, Strategic Planning and the Model Borough Pathfinder Project.

 

Pauline Swash-Wallbank - Director of Finance

Pauline is our Director of Finance, Estates and Facilities. This means she is responsible for the finances of the organisation and also the premises and facilities within the organisation. She also has responsibility for Information Security and Information Communications Technology.
