Community Payback is a London Probation partnership with the Metropolitan Police and local authorities. It gives local communities the opportunity to suggest suitable areas for offenders to rejuvenate as part of their Community Order.

Graffitti removal

The offenders carry out work such as graffiti removal and rubbish clearance, making dangerous areas and amenities safer for local residents to use. The offenders are supervised by London Probation staff and accompanied by Metropolitan Police Officers.

Presentation of Community Payback plaqueCommunity Payback visibly addresses crime and the fear of crime in local communities and is part of the Metropolitan Police's "Safer Neighbourhoods" programme. The scheme has been launched in most London boroughs, and will be London-wide shortly.
