Offenders sentenced to 12 months or more in
prison will be released at the halfway point in their sentence,
unless they are considered too dangerous.
They will stay on licence in the community for
the rest of the sentence and will continue any rehabilitative work
begun in prison.
This means they must report regularly to
London Probation Trust staff and keep to the conditions of their
licence, e.g. not approaching a victim, staying out of a particular
neighbourhood, observing a curfew or living in probation Approved
Premises.
Offenders who fail to keep to the
terms of their licence may be returned to prison.
