Specified Activity Requirements (SARs)
Specified Activity Requirements cover a range of activities,
from day centre attendance, ETE, and basic skills assessment and
training.
Standalone SARs:
In London, a range of one-to-one standalone Specified
Activity Requirements have been developed to assist
offenders with specific needs as follows.
- Caring Dads
- Education, Training and Employment
- Engage and Change
- Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme Accelerated
- Internet Sexual Offending
- One-to-one Manual for Domestic Abuse
- Sexual Offending
- Structured Supervision for Anger Management
- Structured Supervision Programme
- Structured Supervision for Women

Attendance Centres
In London, Senior Attendance Centres for male offenders take place
fortnightly on a Saturday. There are currently five locations
across London:
- Croydon
- Greenwich
- Mill Hill
- Stratford
- Hounslow.

Probation and Courts Forum
The Probation and Courts Forum takes place three times a year at
London Probation Trust’s headquarters: 151 Buckingham
Palace Road, London, SW1W 9SZ. The Forum is chaired by
Caroline Corby, Vice Chair of London Probation Trust, and is an
opportunity for probation staff and sentencers to get together and
discuss topical issues. Membership to the forum is by invite only.

Bench Guide to Community Sentences September 2011
A Bench Guide to Community Sentences has been updated
and is now available electronically for all sentencers in
London. This version is London specific and replaces the
2007 Bench Guide and Handbook. Printed
versions will also been distributed to all courts in
London.

Tag-a-Mag DVD
London Magistrate, Yvonne Powell, agreed to be tagged for a week
to help give magistrates a better understanding about the effects
tagging can have on a person's everyday life, and to explore some
of the common myths around tagging.

Data for sentencers
London Probation Trust provide data four times a year for
sentencers to coincide with the Probation Liaison Committee
meetings at courts. The data covers requirements laid down by the
Senior Presiding Judge, and includes information on start times for
Unpaid Work orders, and Offending Behaviour Programmes. The
most recent data extracts are listed below.

Sentencer Liaison Guidelines
The following guidelines were issued by the Senior Presiding
Judge for England and Wales in June 2008 and sets out ways that
sentencers and representatives of the Ministry of Justice should
liaise in order to assure that the court is best assisted to do its
work.
